When
it comes to fashion and textile industry in Africa, Nigeria occupies a
pride of place. As a country globally recognized for her rich culture
and diverse tradition, the country boasts an incredible array of fashion
choices and fabrics.
Notable
amongst these fabrics is the adire, which has found favour amongst
people all over the continent of Africa and as far as Europe, America,
Canada and Asia.
The
fashion industry has also continued to grow by the day, with more and
more people coming into adire production, and bringing in various
innovations.
Two
of such carnivals are the forthcoming Lady of Africa Arts and Craft
Fashion billed for Easter Sunday and Easter Monday at the National
Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC), Iganmu, Lagos, and the Adire Street
Culture Carnival billed for October 1st, Nigeria’s Independence
Anniversary.
To
this end, invitation is open to all to experience the beauty and
richness of the African culture, which will be abundantly on display.
The
foundation will also in the coming days be taking this adire promotion
to Europe and America, to satisfy the craving of lovers of the adire
fabric in those parts of the world.
The
mission of Lady of Africa Empowerment and Advocacy Foundation is to
support the less-privileged people in the society by waking them up from
their slumber and creating employment opportunities for them and make
the world a better place for all.
